Church Office Staff – Ambassadors of the Parish
Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media, Goa organised a special course for all Church office assistants belonging to different Parishes and institutes of the Archdiocese of Goa. The Course was organised on 18th, 20th and 22nd September, at Mapusa, Panjim and Navelim to facilitate maximum participation. It was held to fine tune their Church communication and office skills.
The aim of this course was to create a basic Christian attitude among our church staff as well as aid them in their functioning as office assistants. The resource persons strived to inspire approaches and attitudes that could help them to be truly approachable and radiant ambassadors of Christ, the Parish and the Priest they work for. They were made to realize how much important role they play as mediators between the Parish Priest and the parish.
The course also included inputs on improving basic computer skills. They were also made aware that through effective office management they could assist the Parish Priest and the Parish in discharging the administrative and clerical duties.
They were also made aware that their attitude and Communication Skills determine the image they create about the Priest in charge and the Parish, to those who visit the office.
DCSCM, Goa thanks all the Parish Priests/Priests In charge, who supported this venture of training the Church Office Assistants and hope to work together with all to train our Church staff to not just be efficient Church office assistants but more approachable, sensitive and Christ like in their work.
