Panjim Deanery Youth Day 2022

After a lengthy hiatus of two years due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the Panjim Deanery Youth Day was fruitfully celebrated on October 30th, 2022. The following parishes under the Panjim Deanery were in charge of planning the Youth Day. Cranzalem Parish, Taleigao Parish , Bambolim Parish, Merces Parish, Chorao Parish, St.Cruz Parish, Ribandar Parish , St.Inez Parish and Panjim Parish . To partake in the full-day event, around 119 young people from various parishes under the Panjim Deanery descended to the Don Bosco Oratory Panjim. The program\’s goal was to gather young people for peer meeting, socializing, and to grow in the love of Christ. The day started with badge pinning and registration, which was followed by ice-breaking and a session by the Animator of the Panjim Deanery Rev. Fr. Americo Rodrigues on the topic \”Friendship Healing or Killing,\” in which he emphasized the importance of having true friends rather than fabricating ones. Furthermore, being a true enemy is preferable to being a fake ally. False friendship, like ivy roots destroys the walls it surrounds, but true friendship provides support , fresh life and animation. A friend who supports you during pressure is more significant than a hundred who do so at times of joy. Followed by the Holy mass.

Americo .During the sermon, by the Animator of the Panjim Deanery Rev. Fr. Americo Rodrigues ,narrated the story of a fashion model who failed miserably because of her drug addiction. He counselled the youth to refuse drugs, emphasizing that life is a priceless gift from God for which they should be grateful at all times. Rev. Fr.Walter, Rev. Fr.Joans , Rev. Fr. Maurice, Rev .Fr.Leslie and Sr. Cinderella Rodrigues were also present for the program. Next, the program was followed by lunch , games and Zumba.
