REPORT OF CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION AT ST. JOAQUIM’S CHAPEL, BORDA
The parishioners of St. Joaquim Chapel, Borda unitedly celebrated the Christmas. The celebration commenced on 19th December morning by distributing the Christmas essentials for the needy in the parish. Around 150 beneficiaries from different religions happily accepted Christmas danam. The evening was a joyous moment, all the close collaborators (volunteers and members of all associations) who are helping hands in the parish, celebrated the thanksgiving mass followed by agape. A band of 200 volunteers took part in this joyful celebration.
The Communion and Sacrament of Reconciliation was administrated for the sick and old faithful of the parish on 21st , 22nd and 23rd December. 21st December was a Day of Reconciliation. It was a wonderful sight to see numerous faithful standing in queue for this Sacrament. Around 15 Priests helped in Confessions.
The Midnight Mass was celebrated on 24th December at 11.00 pm. The morning Masses were celebrated at 6.15 am and 7.00 am. On 26th December at 3.00 pm, Catechetical association organized a Christmas tree and a Sports for Catechetical children and other children from other faiths from our community. 27th December, was a day of entertainment. Roseferns’ Tiatr “Ek Nam, Ek Dis” was staged.
Little children are the Angels. The mass for these little children was celebrated on 28th December, at 9.00 am. The Catechetical Unit organized, Class-wise Cultural programme on 28th December, in which the different talents of the students were visible. ‘Ekchar, Sohobhageliponn’ is the backbone of Somudai which was a live witness on the stage during the Somudai programme on 29th December. Different Somudai-s put an item which depicted their unity. The Forte of this items was numberless participants, from young and old to men and women.
Christmas celebration without Christmas Crib is incomplete. Youth of Borda went in different Somudai-s with their ‘Jivo Gotto’, short programme and a Christmas message. The mass for the old and sick was celebrated on 31st December at 11.00 am, followed by a tea, snacks and a gift. At evening, all the parishioners thanked the Lord at the Holy Hour from 10.00- 11.00 pm and the Solemnity of Mother of God was celebrated at 11.00 pm.
