The Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol and Good Shepherd Institute of Theology, on 6th October 2024, held the Diploma Day for the Lay faithful who had participated in the Theological Course based on the Four Constitutions of Vatican Council II. The course which was conducted on 13 Sundays, commenced on the 16th of June 2024, comprised of 5 sessions, culminated with the Diploma Day. The programme began with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Simião Purificaçao Fernandes, the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman. Thereafter, all the participants gathered in the Seminary Auditorium for a short cultural program and the convocation ceremony. The Rector of the Seminary, Rev. Dr. Donato Rodrigues welcomed the gathering following which the seminarians presented an instrumental titled Ständchen (Serenade) by Franz Schubert and a choral piece titled “Sogllea Sonvsarak Vochat” written and composed by Fr. Joseph Rodrigues and arranged by Fr. Mathew Rebello. Expressing their gratitude, a few participants performed a song written and composed by them. Two participants shared their experiences of the course and the certificates were presented to each of the participants by the Bishop. The vote of thanks was proposed by Fr. Daniel Pereira, coordinator of the course. The program ended with the Seminary Anthem followed by a fellowship meal.
