Thirteen diocesan priests of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman celebrated the Silver Jubilee of their Priestly Ordination on 14th October 2025 at Sé Catedral, Old Goa. The Solemn Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão. Most Rev. Simião P. Fernandes, the Auxiliary Bishop, Most Rev. Alex Dias, Bishop-Emeritus and over 100 priests concelebrated in the Solemn Eucharist and joined in thanking God and praying for the jubilarians.
The theme for the celebration was: Yadniki Yatrent, Bhorvanxeache Sondexkar. In his homily, the Auxiliary Bishop, drawing inspiration from the Biblical passage of the Two Disciples on the Way to Emmaus (Lk.24: 13-34), highlighted the need of journeying in close union with Jesus in our priestly vocation, listening to Him at every moment, readiness to break ourselves for others and then proclaiming Him with love and faithfulness. He called on the jubilarians to continue their priestly ministry with renewed dedication and commitment to Christ and His Church and become messengers of hope to everyone.
Lay faithful, along with religious sisters, from various parishes of the Archdiocese participated in the celebration. The choir was led by Fr. Seby Vaz, while Fr. Henry Falcão and Fr. Afonso Mendonça rendered their services as commentator and liturgical animator respectively.
