The annual meeting of the Western Region Youth Council was held on 13th & 14th June, 2026 at Convent of Our Lady of Fatima (Generalate), Pune, organized by Pune diocese under the leadership of Bishop Barthol Baretto, Chairman Bishop of Western Region Youth Council. The meeting had inspirational formation session, spiritual reflection and fellowship organized by Fr. Rohan Gawdhya, Diocesan Youth Director. The Eucharist was presided over by Most Rev. Bishop Barthol Baretto. Every diocese presented the annual report of their respective dioceses.
This gathering had a dual purpose; the diocesan youth directors meeting and the youth council meeting. The youth council had the evaluation of the previous year and prepared the yearly planner of the activities for the western region whereas the directors decided the venues of the next western region youth conference as Ahmedabad and the next council meet at Mumbai. Fr. Christopher Vaz the outgoing regional director led the elections in the presence of Bishop Barthol Baretto, wherein the directors elected Fr. Blaise Lobo as the new director of the western region youth council along with Sr. Loretta Pereira as the Lady Animator of the western region youth council.
