St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa has once again bagged laurels by securing top honours in the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Sports Championships for the academic year 2025–26. The College has been adjudged Best College in Sports (Men) – First Place by Goa University. This prestigious recognition follows the outstanding performances of the men’s teams, who emerged Champions in Badminton, Best Physique, Handball, Hockey, and Basketball, while securing Runners-up positions in Table Tennis and Kabaddi. Adding to the institution’s achievements, the women’s team also performed commendably, earning the Best College in Sports (Women) – Third Place. The women’s teams won Championship titles in Swimming and Volleyball, and finished as Runners-up in Table Tennis and Baseball.
The certificates recognising these achievements were presented by Goa University during its 42nd Foundation Day celebrations held on 30th June 2026 at Taleigao Plateau, Goa. These accomplishments reflect the dedication, discipline, and hard work of the student-athletes, coaches, and the Department of Physical Education & Sports. The achievements also highlight the College’s continued commitment to promoting sporting excellence alongside academic development.
