“Abide in Mary – A Journey Through the Mysteries of the Rosary” Held at Baina Parish

The Catechetical Association of Baina Parish, under Our Lady of Candelaria Church, organised “Abide in Mary – A Journey Through the Mysteries of the Rosary” on Sunday, 18th October 2026, at 4.00 p.m. at Our Lady of Candelaria Church, Baina.

The activity aimed to deepen the children’s devotion to Our Blessed Mother and help them understand the mysteries of the Holy Rosary through prayer, creativity and group participation.

The children were divided into three groups according to their classes. Children from Pre-Communion to Class II were provided with an image of a mystery and encouraged to creatively decorate one decade of the Rosary using craft and eco-friendly materials. Participants from Classes III to V engaged in making a five-decade Rosary using eco-friendly materials, expressing their creativity while reflecting on this beautiful Marian devotion. Children from Classes VI to VIII worked in groups to prepare a chart depicting the Rosary, incorporating pictures of the mysteries and writing an intention for each mystery.

Despite the activity being held in the evening, the children participated enthusiastically, displaying creativity, teamwork and a keen interest in learning more about the Holy Rosary. Their efforts reflected the spirit of prayer, devotion and togetherness that the activity sought to foster.

The programme was conducted with the guidance and support of Fr. Domnic D’Souza, Catechetical Animator, along with the catechists and volunteers who contributed to the arrangements and smooth conduct of the activity.

The gathering concluded on a note of gratitude and renewed devotion to Our Blessed Mother. Through this initiative, the children were encouraged to see the Rosary not merely as a prayer, but as a journey with Mary towards a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

The activity beautifully reflected the catechetical theme “Abide in Mary”, reminding everyone of the importance of remaining close to Mary through prayer and allowing her to lead us closer to her Son.
