Bioethics workshop held for the St. Luke’s Medical Guild, Goa chapter

The SLMG, Goa chapter organised a Bioethics Workshop for Catholic doctors on 30 March 2025, at the Pilar seminary.

The resource person for the workshop was Father Christopher Vimalraj from Bangalore Archdiocese, an eminent speaker and bioethics stalwart.

The symposium was attended by about 50 members. It began with mass and was followed by a series of lectures on the introduction, importance and relevance of Bioethics in the daily practice of the doctors of the SLMG. There were also group activities wherein subgroups of the participants were made and give ethically conflicting situations and were asked to debate on it. The Symposium was appreciated and set the foundation for recurring activities on the Bioethics forum. It was proposed to have a subgroup within the SLMG, with a focus on bioethics, to correspond and assist the rest of the members, during ethically conflicting situations. The members enthusiastically welcomed this proposal and have already begun working on it.

The Symposium concluded with a vote of thanks and lunch.
