Diocesan Commission for Ecology meets the Environment Secretary
The Diocesan Commission for Ecology, Goa met the environment secretary Arun Kumar Mishra on Wednesday to voice out their concerns over a number of issues including the double tracking project.
Fr. Bolmax Pereira, convenor of DCE along with Miguel Braganza, Joshua Dmello and Yannah Marchon explained that a letter was written to all 40 MLAs to express their anguish about ecological degradation and the suffering of the people in Goa, especially in the context of double-tracking of railway line from Tinaighat to Vasco but not excluding other issues.
The Secretary-Environment, requested the DCE to \”firm up the issues\” meaning to state what the DCE expects as action from the Ministry of Environment.
The DCE must now discuss the issues raised in the letter dated 10 April, 2023, and highlight the possible actionable points and articulate the issues.
