Diploma Day of the Course on Liturgical Music
The diploma day for the participants of the Course on LITURGICAL MUSIC conducted by the Committee for Formation in Liturgical Music during the pastoral year 2022-23, was held at the Pastoral Institute, Pius X, Old Goa, on 21 May 2023. The course, conducted in the Sanguem, Siolim, Pernem and Mormugão deaneries, consisted of 4 days, each day having 5 hours of study/practice. The participants are given sessions on Catholic faith, Ecclesiology, Liturgy in general, Liturgy of the Mass, Sacraments, Singing of Psalms, Use of Instruments in Liturgy, Techniques of Singing, Active Participation in Liturgy, Gregorian Chant, the Role of the Choir, etc. A total of 103 candidates who successfully completed the course in the various deaneries, were awarded certificates at the hands of His Eminence Filipe Neri Ferrão. Several parish priests of the parishes of the candidates also participated in the solemn vespers, celebrated in the Church of St. Cajetan, Old Goa.
