FEAST OF ST. CAJETAN CELEBRATED, Old Goa
The feast of St Cajetan was celebrated on the 7th of August 2022 in St Cajetan\’s Church at Old Goa. The Eucharistic celebration was held at 7.00 AM and 9.00 AM.
The newly ordained priest Fr Clive Diniz and Fr Kevin Fernandes were the main celebrants respectively and, in their homilies, focused on journeying in the footsteps of Christ by living in communion, participation and mission.
The themes of the novena and of the feast were culled from the Pastoral Letter of Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrão. The novena and the feast liturgies and other preparations were done by the Pastoralites under the guidance of the Director, Fr Simião Fernandes, who later proposed the vote of thanks. A memento of gratitude and appreciation was presented to the well-wishers and donors of the Institute at the hands of Fr. Miguel, the Secretary.
Many devotees of St. Cajetan from Old Goa and from the surrounding villages participated in the eucharistic celebration. There was a brass band performance by the Pastoralites at the end of each mass.
Drawing inspiration from the life and ministry of St. Cajetan, the poor workers of ASI, rendering service at the campus, were special guests among others for the fellowship meal.
The joy of the feast was continued with a friendly match in the evening played by the Pastoralites and the Birondem youth at the Birondem village ground. The Birondem Team also had members from other religious traditions, besides seminarians. The match was won by the Pastoralites 2-1.
