Fr. Geraldo John Diniz, a priest belonging to the Archdiocese of Goa embarked on his Journey to heaven after faithfully completing his ministry, entrusted to him by the lord, on the afternoon of 16th August, 2024.
As expressed by Many Priests he was a holy, dedicated, kind, empathetic, helpful, pastor united to the heart of Christ and His people.
He was born in Tilamola on 5th December 1970 and ordained priest on 15th May 1997. His main assignments are as follows:
- Assistant to the Parish Priest of the Parish of Ss. James and Philip, Cortalim – 1997
- Took part in the Pastoral Course at Pastoral Institute St. Pius X, Old-Goa – 1998
- Assistant to the Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Rosary, Navelim – 1998
- Assistant to the Parish Priest of the Parish of St. Joseph, Siroda – 2000
- Relieved from the above post in order to serve in the Diocese of AGARTALA for two years – 2001
- Assistant to the In-Charge of St. Xavier’s Hostel, Mapusa – 2005
- Authorised to render his services in the Diocese of Agartala for a period of one year – 2007
- Assistant to the Parish Priest of the Parish of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Nuvem – 2010
- Parish Priest of the Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Arambol – 2011
- Authorised to reside at the Chapel of Our Lady of Pilar, Sindonim, Khanvel and assist its Chapel – 2012
- Chaplain of Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel, Chisda, Khanvel – 2013
- Parish Priest of the Parish of Our Lady Lourdes, chisda (Newly erected on Jan. 2018)
- Parish priest of the Parish of St. Stephen, Santo Estevao – 2019
- Dean of Old Goa Deanery for 3 years – 2021
- Relieved from the post of Dean of Old Goa Deanery at his request with immediate effect – 2023
