Guardian Angel IHMCT Celebrates 25 Years, Inaugurates New State of the Art Infrastructure
Guardian Angel Institute Of Hotel Management And Catering Technology, Curchorem – Goa Inaugurated their new state of the art block on the occasion of completion of 25 years of service to empower young minds in the field of hospitality industry.
The program started at 4:00 pm by unveiling a plaque by the hands of Dr. Vivek Kamat (Director of Technical Education, Govt. Of Goa) followed by the cutting of the ribbon by the hands of V. Rev. Fr. Dr. Sebastiao Mascarenhas (Superior General of Pilar Society) and other Dignitaries including Fr. Mateus Fernandes (Provincial Superior of Goa Province, Society of Pilar Society), Fr. Joaquim Rebello (Principal of GAIHMCT), Fr. Jerry Vaz (Local Superior), Fr. Walter Miranda (Principal of GAHSS and Manager of GAIHMCT) along with the Construction team members. and other distinguished dignitaries.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Sebastiao Started with Prayer service and blessing of the Institute building and sprinkling of Holy Water on all the floors of the new blocks followed by the thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration with the theme “Stay with us, O Lord”.
Thereafter, a well organized cultural program was put up by students of Guardian Angel High school, Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School and Students of Hotel Management and Catering Technology.
The Dignitaries of the evening expressed their interaction with the Guardian Angel Family. Dr. Kamat appreciated the work of Pilar Father in the field of promoting education to the weaker section of the society without a desire of making profit but with the desire to uplift the society and offering value based well rounded education. Rev. Fr. Dr. Sebastiao spoke about the vision of the society and tireless contribution of the Pilar Fathers in developing the education sector without knowing how things will work financially but he strongly believes in Almighty God that support will be delivered. He emphasised that they will continue to be catalyst of goodness in the Society. Fr. Joaquim Rebello thanked and honored the contribution of every member of the benefactors, construction team and the staff members. Rev. Fr. Mateus appreciated the contribution of every member associated with the new block right from the purchasing of the property to the completion of the project and also thanked the well wishers and people who contributed towards the project.
On Behalf of the Staff members, Dr. Rohit Sarin (Vice-Principal and HOD) Proposed the Vote of thanks. The function was ably compared by Madam Betty Rebello. Food Production was taken care of by Chef Karl and Chef Guilermo. The Service department was taken care of by Mr. Raynold D \’ Souza and team. The programme was coordinated by Madam Betty and Mr. Nicky Fernandes. The function was concluded by the College Anthem which was written by Rev. Fr. Frank Mendes and put to Music by Rev. Fr. Peter Cardoso. All the audience around 230 people were mesmerized by the art of infrastructure.
