On 31st May 2025, the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman celebrated the Jubilee Day for Marian Spirituality, closing the Month of Mary with a deep call to renew our discipleship through her example — the first and most faithful follower of Christ. Across Goa, many parishes marked this day with prayerful creativity, led in part by the World Apostolate of Fatima (WAF) Parish Units.
Several communities spent an hour in meditative prayer using the “Povitrtaiechem Vor” (Hour of Holiness) — a ten-step program rooted in Ignatian spirituality and enriched with the Fatima prayers taught by the Angel of Peace and Our Lady. Others organized rosary processions, flower offerings, and encouraged the faithful to wear blue and white, as a sign of Marian devotion.
While many parishes celebrated this day beautifully, three WAF parish units stood out for their creativity and spiritual depth:
St. Anne’s Church, Ponda
The evening began with a flower offering, followed by a Meditative Rosary, and a Mass at 6:30 PM that filled the church. The church was adorned with three-color floral decorations, and parishioners wore blue and white. A Marian procession featured 21 children, each representing a title of Our Lady. The day concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and fellowship, capturing both joy and reverence.
St. Francis of Assisi Church, Colvale
The day began with a 7:00 AM Mass and the Povitrtaiechem Vor, led with Marian hymns and prayer reflections. Blue-and-white attire, floral altar decor, and a touching “Angels Procession” during the Salve Regina added grace. A gathering over tea and snacks followed, with WAF and Legion of Mary banners affirming unity in mission.
Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cotto de Fatorpa
The Marian celebration at Cotto de Fatorpa began with the Nhiallacho Ters and a Special Mass prepared near the grotto, beautifully decorated with flowers, lights, and an altar in blue and white. What started with about 80 attendees soon grew to over 160, as more parishioners joined in.
Following the Mass was a candlelight procession, where the faithful walked prayerfully through the village, bearing the image of Our Lady — a powerful display of unity and devotion. The day concluded with a joyful get-together over tea and snacks. Organizers described the event as a true blessing from Mother Mary, feeling her guiding presence in every detail.
The Light of Fatima Lives On
From flowers and processions to prayer hours and angelic portrayals, these events echoed Fatima’s call to prayer, penance, and devotion to the Immaculate Heart. As a Public International Association of the Faithful of Pontifical Right, the World Apostolate of Fatima continues to nurture Eucharist-centered parishes dedicated to reparation and peace.
May this Jubilee Day strengthen our mission, and like the Fatima children, may we live to console the Immaculate Heart of Mary through love and faithful witness.
