The Agricos Alumni Association, in collaboration with Our Lady of Rosary Church, Navelim, will organise two competitions as part of the upcoming Konkan Fruit Fiesta at the Rosary School Ground, Navelim.
A Fresh Fruits Competition will be held on 14th May 2026. Open to participants of all ages with no entry fee, the contest invites entries of locally grown fruits from Goa. Participants are required to submit ripe fruits, properly packed in zip-lock pouches. Entries will be accepted from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Judging will be based on physical appearance—such as shape, size, and overall fruit health—as well as sensory qualities including colour, taste, and flavour.
This will be followed by the Best Honey Competition on 15th May 2026 at the same venue. Participants must submit honey samples in 100 mL glass jars, along with a label indicating the source location. Branded honey entries are not permitted. Entries will be accepted from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and will be evaluated by professional beekeepers and food technologists based on colour, flavour, taste, and consistency.
Winners in both competitions will receive cash prizes and certificates.
The organisers have invited the public to participate enthusiastically and showcase the richness of local produce as part of the Konkan Fruit Fiesta celebrations.
