Lenten Show
The Parish youth of Raia put up a Lenten Show “ Bhogsat, Jivit Novsorat” surrounding the theme of \’Forgiveness\’. The Lenten Show aimed at highlighting the need to forgive people who make life difficult for us by inflicting all kinds of suffering on us. The show was staged at the church and other places in the parish.
The Lenten Show comprised of two parts; a play and shadow acts. The play revolved around the lives of a grieving mother, an astrayed son and an arrogant daughter-in-law. Various incidences from their lives were related to the incidences that occurred in Jesus\’s life. The parables that Jesus told his disciples and followers were also used in one of the shadow acts. The biblical scenes were depicted in the form of Shadow Act.
The talent of the youth was highly appreciated by the parishioners and were encouraged for more such enactments in the future.
