A state-of-the-art new store of “Lighthouse: Archdiocesan Centre for Books, Religious Articles & Gifts” was solemnly inaugurated and blessed on 24th August 2026, at the Institute Piedade complex in the capital city. The inaugural blessing was performed by Archbishop Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão, in the prestigious presence of the Auxiliary Bishop of Goa and Daman, Bishop Simião Fernandes. The civic administration was well represented at the event by City Corporation of Panaji (CCP) Mayor Rohit Monserrate and CCP Commissioner Clen Madeira, who both graced the occasion as prominent dignitaries. The standard of the gathering was further elevated by the attendance of several prominent clergy and religious figures, including the Diocesan Financial Administrator, Fr. Noel da Costa, alongside numerous other priests and sisters from across the Archdiocese. The establishment of this comprehensive spiritual and cultural hub in the heart of Panjim was realized under the dedicated initiative of Fr. Jovial Fernandes, the Director of Lighthouse. The interior design and setup of this newly inaugurated store was conceptualised and executed by Architect Ms. Chrissy Jane Fernandes. The new center aims to serve the faithful and visitors alike, offering an extensive collection of religious literature, sacred articles, and carefully curated gifts.
