Mother’s Day Celebrated at Our Lady of Miracles Church, Badem

The feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Jubilee of Mothers was joyfully celebrated at Our Lady of Miracles Church, Badem, on September 8 at 5:00 PM. The celebration, centered around the theme “Avoi Mogachem Bhanddar” (Mother – A Treasure of Love), began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration.

The Holy Mass was concelebrated by Fr. John D’Costa, who also delivered the homily, and Fr. Beniz Gomes, who served as the main celebrant. In his sermon, Fr. John D’Costa reflected on the powerful intercession of Mother Mary, sharing inspiring examples of how she accompanies us through life’s challenges.

After the Mass, a cake-cutting ceremony was held in honor of all mothers, symbolizing love, gratitude, and unity. Each mother was invited to participate in this special moment.

A vibrant cultural programme followed, organized by the Catechists and youth of the parish. The Catechism students warmly welcomed the mothers with a heartfelt welcome song and an elegant fan dance. The children also expressed their love and appreciation by creating and presenting handmade cards, filled with messages of gratitude.

The parish youth entertained the gathering with a humorous skit and a lively dance performance, adding fun and joy to the evening.

The celebration concluded with a special game for mothers, organized by Fr. Beniz Gomes, bringing smiles and laughter to all participants. It was a heartwarming and memorable celebration, honoring the selfless love of mothers and the maternal care of our Blessed Mother Mary.
