Pernem Deanery Youth Day
After almost 3 years since the last one, due to Coronavirus outbreak, the Pernem Deanery Youth Day was successfully celebrated on December 4th, 2022. The Following parishes under the Pernem Deanery were in charge of planning the Youth Day. Arambol Parish, Morjim Parish , Mandrem Parish, Keri-Tiracol Parish, Pernem Parish, Tuem Parish and Tormas Parish. To partake in the full-day event, around 108 young people from various parishes under the Pernem Deanery descended to the Morjim Parish Hall . The program’s goal was to gather young people for peer meeting, socializing, and to grow in the love of Christ. The day started with badge pinning and registration, which was followed by ice-breaking and a session by the Diocesan Youth Centre Goa, Director Rev. Fr. Fermino Savio Dsouza and his Team on the topic “Love Life, Live Life in Christ” in which he emphasized the importance of having Love for Self first in which we automatically Love our Life, Living life to the fullest, without depending on anyone and Living according to Christ. This session was followed by the celebration of Holy mass.
The main celebrant for the Eucharistic celebration was Rev. Fr Savio Dsouza along with Rev. Fr. Richard from Tuem and Rev. Fr .Francis Fernandes, Youth Animator of the Pernem Deanery And Parish Priest of Morjim Parish. Next, the program was followed by lunch. After the Lunch there were various unique games for the Youth in which everyone participated and had fun. Finally, a vote of thanks by Rev.Fr Francis Fernandes, brought the program to a close. The program was extremely impactful. A Souvenir in the form of a Cross was given to all the Youth members who had participated in the Deanery Youth Day as a remembrance.
