The parish of St. John the Baptist Church, Pilerne shall be representing Calangute deanery to host a night vigil entitled – Hearts of Hope – Devachea mogachem zagronn – Farikponnachem zagronn” in association with World Apostolate of Fatima, Goa Archdiocesan division. The night vigil shall be held across all deaneries in Goa, with a unifying message: Same prayers-Same time-One heart-across Goa; encouraging the faithful to pray for peace and reparation of humanity to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The vigil commences at 8.45pm on 6th June 2025 with First Friday devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and culminates at 5.15am the following day, 7th June 2025, with first Saturday devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. With emphasis on the encyclical penned by Pope Francis – “Delixit nos”- the vigil will be led through various segments like reparation prayers, adoration, worship, rosaries, procession and Holy mass by representatives from the parishes in the Calangute deanery.
Fr. Derick Fernandes, parish priest of Pilerne, who has great devotion to the Blessed Mother and has faithfully initiated first Saturday devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the parish, stated that, “The vigil is a great way to honour the twin hearts of Jesus and Mary and unitedly seek reparation and peace in the world. We are truly blessed to host this First Vigil dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary as in Our Church there is One Altar dedicated for the Twin Hearts of Jesus and Mother Mary. “Fr. Derick added that, the parish shall continue with the First Saturday devotion on 7th June from 9.30 am to 1.00pm where Fr. Ashlyn Chand, official exorcist of Mumbai, shall conduct prayers and adoration led through the rosary. The faithful are invited to participate in this devotion in a spirit of prayer and togetherness.
