THANKSGIVING AND FELICITATION PROGRAMME HELD IN HONOUR OF HIS EMINENCE FILIPE NERI CARDINAL FERRAO AT ST.THOMAS PARISH, ALDONA
St. Thomas Parish, Aldona was delighted to host a thanksgiving celebration and felicitation programme in honour of His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao on his elevation as Cardinal by His Holiness Pope Francis on 27th. August 2022.
His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao was the main celebrant of the solemn Eucharistic celebration and the con- celebrants were the Parish Vicar Fr. Tomas Lobo, Asst. Parish Priest Fr. Michael Fernandes, Fr. Caitan Dsouza, Fr. Jeronimo Afonso, Fr. Mariano Proenca, Fr. Gualberto Dsousa, Fr. George Aguiar, Fr. Jerard Sahayaraj MSFS and Fr. Jose Maria Rodrigues SFX.
This was followed by a felicitation programme which began with a prayer dance performed by the catechism children based on the hymn Somi mhozo Gonvlli with the lyrics composed by Fr.Tomas Lobo.Parish choir and the children’s choir ‘Sweet voices of St.Thomas trained and directed by Fr.Tomas Lobo enthralled the listeners with their enchanting music and voices.Ecce sacerdos magnus composed and arranged by Late Camilo Xavier and sung in acapella style was a beautiful rendition by the choir. ‘’Follow me,’ Tim sogllim ek zaum ‘and ‘You are a shepherd’ composed by Fr.Tomas Lobo was well sung by the choir with the guidance of the Director Fr.Tomas Lobo.

Fr. Tomas Lobo Presented a Spiritual Bouquet, a collection of spiritual exercises in the form of rosaries, masses, spiritual ejaculations, and sacrifices done and offered by the parishioners to His Eminence
Asst. Parish Priest presented a memento as a token of love and appreciation to his Eminence. A portrait prepared by Karina Fernandes of His Eminence was also presented.
His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao expressed his happiness and gratitude for the prayers offered for him. He also spoke on the Pastoral theme of the year ‘Follow Me’.The culmination of the sacred music presentation was the singing of Ruzari Saibinni asking for the intercession of our Beloved Mother Mary to protect His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao.
