The Angels’ retreat, for the age group of 5 yrs – 12 yrs, conducted at St. Joseph Vaz Spiritual Renewal Centre, with the theme, “let the little children come to me…Lk 18:16’. commenced on 2nd October at 10:00 am with registration, followed by the program. There was a very good response of 128 little angels.
Rev Fr. Saturnino on behalf of the director Rev. Dr. Henry Falcao welcomed the parents and the children giving a short introduction about the historic heritage and the sanctity of the place. The retreat began with some action songs and praises, making everyone sing their hearts out to the Lord. The sessions began with a talk given by Fr. Aaron exploring the childhood of Jesus. Simultaneously a short inspiring talk on how to relate well with the little children was given to the Parents by Fr. Saturnino. Thereafter, Lourdes Vaz, a member of the intercessory prayer group, gave another session on Angels, their individual characteristics and how we each can experience their presence in our daily lives.
The Holy Eucharist was the climax of the spiritual event, celebrated by Fr. Saturnino, highlighting the life of saints especially their childhood, focusing on St. Joseph Vaz as their role model. After lunch, children were placed in groups and various activities such as fun games with lessons for life were conducted and value based videos were shown to the children by the Priests and the FMCK Sisters belonging to the community, assisted by the Intercessory Prayer Group Members. Later, during the day, an adoration was conducted by Mr. Magno Menezes for the little angels. Towards the end the Priests laid their hands on the children and their parents. The adoration ended with the solemn blessing.
The little angels were given a token of love to remember their time, spent with the Lord. The Angels’ Retreat ended with a group photo followed by a happy cup of tea.
