The Crescendo Children’s Choir presented its 2nd Concert

The Crescendo Children’s Choir presented its  2nd Concert in the 2nd year of its inception. 

Creatively conceptualised by Dr. Fr. Ramiro Luis and trained to perfection by Mr. Raj Fernandes D’Pietro , the group of 66 children sang in praise of God on the 5th of May 2023 at St. Xavier’s College Campus, Mapusa and on 9th of May at the Sé Catedral, Old Goa. The chief Guests for the evenings were-  renowned Musical Composer , Fr Bernardo Cota and the rector of the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol, Fr Dr Aleixo Menezes.

The theme for the concert was , ‘Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam’ – \”For the Greater Glory of God\”. This theme resonates the vision of the Crescendo Children\’s Choir  in totality – the children use their talent to sing and make music to praise their Creator. Many months of practice, commitment, hardwork and dedication have gone into the making of this wonderful and glorious performance.

A performance that is not for wealth or fame or for any other material gain, but for the greater glory of God.

Fr. Bernardo Cota from SANTA CRUZ , who was felicitated on the occasion, was humbly recognised for the immense work he has done for the church of Goa. Most of the tunes that connects us through a Konkani hymns to the realm of divinity are his compositions.He learnt the solfeggio, art of singing and composing music by observing and following his Father .  He acquired proficiency in teaching music and conducting Choirs and Orchestras.

Fr Bernardo Cota was a teacher of Sacred Music at the Seminary of Rachol and SALIGAO seminary all his Priestly Ministry. He’s conducted  innumerable Choirs and the Orchestra for various occasions. He even Conducted the choir when the Pope visited Goa. that choir was highly appreciated by Pope himself. 

His unique Rhapsodies, Manddos Dekhnnis, arranging music for Operettas are a delight. He is a Very important contributor to the CHURCH MUSIC IN GOA. His tunes will be heard time immemorial.

Crescendo CHOIR 2.0 presented songs in Latin, Italian, English, Hindi and Konkani to a full house.
