The DSE Thanksgiving day
The DSE Thanksgiving day was celebrated on the 26th of April 2022 at St. Joseph Vaz Spiritual Renewal Centre , Old Goa , under the theme \”Thank you Lord for staying with us and inspiring us to follow you\”.The day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Felipe Neri Ferrao, along with the DSE office bearers and Managers and heads of Schools present.It was followed by the Felicitation Programme for five retiring heads of DSE Institutions namely Mrs. Perci Fernandes, Mrs. Jesuina Flora Valadares, Mrs. Nita Salker, Mr. John Fernandes and Mr. Claudio Fernandes.The Programme began with a Welcome song by the students of St. John of the Cross, Sanquelim, who with their melodious voices greeted all present. Rev. Canon Lucio Dias, President of the DSE accorded a warm welcome to the dignitaries, Managers and heads of Institutions.A memory to take back, \”Reminiscences….\”memoirs of heads laying down their office, and the cherished journey of each retiring head penned down was released by His Grace Archbishop Filepe Neri Ferrao. The Secretary of the DSE Rev. Fr. Jesus Rodrigues appreciated all the hard work and committed services rendered by the retiring heads and acknowledged their dedicated service in the Apostolate of Education.Each retiring head expressed their gratitude, emotions and experiences as they step down after a fruitful glorious innings.To you…. with Love, a beautiful mime and dance was presented by the students of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour high school, Cortalim through which they showcased the love for the teaching faculty.The Archbishop Most Rev.Felipe Neri Ferrao, in his address appreciated the dedicated services of the retiring heads in their pursuits for academic excellence.He also praised the organisation and coordination of the DSE Family in getting the event organised. In honour of the decades of devoted service , the retiring heads were presented with mementos by His Grace Archbishop.The programme finally ended with the vote of thanks by Rev. Fr. Rosario Oliveira, Asst to the Secretary.The Co-ordinator for the DSE Thanksgiving day was the Headmistress of St. Thomas high School, Cansaulim, Ms. Aurora D\’Souza,who headed the Organising Committee comprising of Ms. Margret Dias, Ms. Ivy Arifa Pereira, Ms. Dorothy Fernandes, Ms. Sunanda Cardozo, Mr. Sylvester D\’Souza and Mr. Gilroy D\’Souza.The entire event was well organised and especially prepared to leave lasting and cherished memories for all members of the DSE Family. Rev . Fr Mariano Dias invoked God\’s blessings through the grace before meals followed by a fellowship Lunch.
