Dos and Don’ts
The Walking Pilgrimage, one of the major events on our Diocesan Planner, is scheduled for 1st March, 2020. It is a spiritual exercise of prayer, reflection and sacrifice, to start the season of Lent which has been embraced by the pilgrim faithful as a walk with the Lord to experience him in his passion and glory. To make this pilgrimage a safe one for all kindly take note of the suggestions given below:
Come prepared with:
- Have breakfast before leaving your house
- Carry a water bottle along
- Carry your rosary
- Carry your basic medicines that you may need
- Carrying a hand towel, it could be of help
- Carry a torch, if you have
- Compulsorily, carry a sandwich or biscuit pack along as you walk
- Walk light, don’t carry baggage
- Start going for a promenade to train the body for a long pilgrim walk
- Have a positive mind to walk
- Walk to witness Christ
- Walk to help others on the way
- Have a prayerful Christian disposition
- In Sancoale, sit parish wise; it will help you after the Mass to get to the bus easily
To take caution of:
- If you are a heart patient think twice
- If you are very old help the pilgrims praying from home
- If your health is weak, think of next year
- Don’t come with a picnic spirit
- For ladies, walk with low heel shoes
Travel with the parishioners by bus, private vehicles will not be allowed.
Parking Map for Bus Parking
Parking of buses for each deanery coming for Walking Pilgrimage is being alloted. The buses are to go for parking once they arrive in Sancoale, after alighting the pilgrims at their respective centres.
The Priests are kindly to be reminded to affix on the windshield of the bus the name of their parish and the Name of their deanery in big letters so that they are readable from the road for the parking volunteers to guide the drivers to their parking places.
