Release of the new Directory 2024 – 2025 of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman

The annual Directory 2024 – 2025 of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman was released on Saturday, 10th August, on the Occasion of the feast of St. Lawrence, by Archbishop Patriarch Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão and Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes, in the presence of the Director of Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media, Fr. Barry Cardozo and Communication Centre staff members Ms Janet Barcellos and Mr Romualdo Fernandes. at the Archbishops House.

While congratulating the Diocesan Centre for Social Communication Media for completing this important yet tedious task, His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão wished that “this directory may be an important step towards building a Communion of Communities in this Archdiocese, as we connect and journey together as Pilgrims of Hope”.

In his message the Auxiliary Bishop Most. Rev. Simiao Fernandes highlighted that “The Directory of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman is a praiseworthy initiative by the Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media (DCSCM)”.  He emphasised that “the directory is a worthy tool and powerful weapon, as Christ’s Faithful, on our mission of being Messengers of the Good News, and thus, bring a ray of hope to those in diverse situations of hopelessness. Furthermore, as we journey in synodality, it will definitely help us to connect with Christ’s Faithful of diverse walks of life, engaged in varied ministries of service in the Archdiocese.”

The publication gives detailed information about the Church in Goa. It covers parishes in Goa and in the far off Mission of Daman (which includes the Union territories of Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Diu), Institutes of the Religious (Women and Men), Educational Institutions, Technical Schools and various other services offered by the Archdiocese to the society. New features are included in the present edition of the Directory.

It will be available from next week at the Lighthouse, Margao, Pauline Book and Media Centres, Panjim and Mapusa, Jivitacho Sondex and Pastoral Institute, Old Goa, Archbishop’s House, Altinho Panjim and some of the parishes in Goa.
