To spread awareness about safe and responsible use of digital technology, Media Club of Holy Spirit Institute, Margao organised a talk on Cyber Hygiene Practices on 21 st July 2025 in the school hall.
The session began with a brief introduction to the concept of cyber hygiene. Experts in the field of cyber security Mr. Allen Paully and Mr. Jonas Vaz were the resource persons. Headmistress Mrs. Esmeralda Mendes e Fernandes, Media Club coordinators Tr. Farina Martins and Tr. Smita Sawant along Students of std VIII, IX and X attended the session. The speakers emphasized on the importance of maintaining strong passwords, recognising phishing emails, avoiding suspicious links and downloads and regularly updating software and antivirus programs.
Real life examples and case studies were shared to make the students aware of the various cyber threats like identify theft, cyber bullying, data breaches, morphing which can occur due to negligence. The speakers provided practical tips and demonstrated tools to ensure better online safety.
The session was informative and served as a wake- up call about the growing need for digital awareness in today’s connected world.
The talk concluded with a vote of thanks and a reminder to all participants to be vigilant and proactive in protecting their digital identity.
