The annual Directory 2026 – 2027 of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman was released on Sunday, 23rd August, by Archbishop Patriarch Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao and Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes, in the presence of the Director of Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media, Fr. Barry Cardozo, Sr. Rita Frois hc and Communication Centre staff members Ms Janet Barcellos and Mr Romualdo Fernandes. at the Archbishops House.

The Archbishop congratulated the Director, Fr. Barry Cardozo and the Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media staff members, for publishing the Directory of the Archdiocese and wished that it may reach to as many faithful as possible inorder to help them in getting the necessary contact details of the Churches and Catholic institutions of the Archdiocese. Connecting the theme of the pastoral year “Abide In Me” of the Archdiocese, the Archbishop expressed his desire that this Directory may offer the necessary aids to the faithful to come closer to the Church thus helping them to Abide In Christ.

In his message the Auxiliary Bishop Most. Rev. Simiao Fernandes emphasised that “this Directory may serve as a worthy tool to remain connected with one another as we journey in synodality towards the fulfilment of our common mission.”

Fr. Barry Cardozo, director of DCSCM expressed his deepest gratitude to the Archbishop-Patriarch Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao, Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes, for their constant support and guidance, Fr. Loiola Pereira and Fr. Romeo Monteiro for helping in the editing, all the clergy, New Age Printers and the office staff at the Communications Centre, Ms Janet Barcellos and Mr Romualdo Fernandes, whose painstaking work made this volume possible. Referring to the encyclical Magnifica Humanitas, issued by Pope Leo XIV, Fr. Barry suggested that this sourcebook may be used as a tool kit to revitalise human encounter, protect youth and families and reach out to the vulnerable by using the specific institutional data available in it. He wished that this sourcebook may help us build a communion of communities, and confidently witness to the true grandeur of humanity—in which God has chosen to make His home.

The publication gives detailed information about the Church in Goa. It covers parishes in Goa and in the far off Mission of Daman (which includes the Union territories of Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Diu), Institutes of the Religious (Women and Men), educational institutions, technical schools and various other services offered by the Archdiocese to the society. This Directory will be soon followed by another book giving the historical details of the Churches in Goa.
