The members of the St. Luke’s Medical Guild spent the Second Sunday of Advent (7th December 2025) in the warm company of the children at the St. Xavier’s Academy, Baingini.
The day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Maverick and Fr. Jorge. In his inspiring homily, Fr. Jorge reflected on the theme “Encountering Jesus’ hope in children who need it the most.”
This was followed by an insightful talk by Fr. Savio, who highlighted the challenges faced by the children with disabilities residing at the centre.
The doctors and dentists then organized a variety of fun games, in which the children participated with great enthusiasm, winning many prizes along the way.
A special moment of joy was the arrival of Br. Jovial as Santa Claus, whose presence filled the hall with laughter and excitement.
Everyone later shared a delicious lunch, lovingly prepared and blessed by Fr. Walter.
The day concluded with the distribution of gifts to all the children while singing Christmas Carols. It was a heartwarming opportunity for the Guild members to bring joy to the children — and in doing so, to experience that same joy reflected back into their own hearts.
In all, around 35 doctors and dentists participated in this meaningful Advent outreach.
