Novena and Solemnity of St. Joseph Vaz at the Old Church of Our Lady of Health, Rua Escravo de Maria, Sancoale, will be held from 7th to 15th January 2026, culminating in the Feast Day celebrations on 16th January. This year’s theme is “Filled with Hope, St. Joseph Vaz proclaimed Christ through the ministry of service.”
Novena Services
Daily novena Masses will be held in Konkani each morning at 6:00, 7:30 and 9:15, with deanery-wise Romaria Masses. Evening services include a 4:00 pm Mass in Konkani and a 6:00 pm Mass in English.
Confessions will be available daily from 6:30 to 9:15 am and from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
On Sunday, January 11, additional Masses will be celebrated at 5:00, 6:15, 7:30 and 9:15 am, all in Konkani.
Special liturgies on January 11 include:
- 9:15 am: Mass for the Sick and Elderly
- 11:00 am: Mass in Malayalam
- 2:00 pm: Mass in Hindi
Feast Day – 16th January
The Feast of St. Joseph Vaz will be celebrated with morning Masses at 5:00, 6:00, 7:30 and 8:45 am. The Concelebrated Solemn High Mass will be held at 10:00 am.
A special Mass at the Oratory Room of St. Joseph Vaz will take place at 12:00 noon.
Evening Masses include 4:00 pm in Konkani and 5:30 pm in English.
Selected Masses will be live-streamed on diocesan YouTube channels and on the Archdiocesan website.
The veneration of the Statue and Relic of St. Joseph Vaz will be held at the Sanctuary of St. Joseph Vaz in Sancoale.
