The Western Regional Biblical Commission of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI), in collaboration with the Diocesan Centre for Biblical Apostolate (DCBA), organised the Western Regional Bible Quiz to inspire children to cultivate a deep love for Sacred Scripture through regular reading, study, reflection, and faithful living of God’s Word. The quiz is centred on the first five books of the Bible—Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
In the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, the competition is being conducted in three progressive stages: Parish, Deanery, and Diocesan. The Parish-level round was successfully held on 12 July 2026 under the dedicated coordination of the Deanery Priest Coordinators, marking a promising beginning to this journey of faith and biblical formation. The response was overwhelming, with nearly 150 parishes and chapels participating across the Archdiocese. Young participants displayed remarkable enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment in preparing for the quiz, supported by the encouragement and guidance of their parish priests, catechists, and parents. Following the successful conclusion of the parish-level round, the competition now advances to the Deanery level, with qualifying participants moving one step closer to the opportunity of representing the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman at the Western Regional Bible Quiz.
The Diocesan Bible Quiz was more than just a competition; it was a journey of faith. It encouraged participants to open the Bible, read the Scriptures, and gain a deeper understanding of the first five books of the Bible, which are often overlooked. Through this initiative, young people discovered the richness of God’s Word and were inspired to remain rooted in Christ by growing in their knowledge and love of the Scriptures.
Through such initiatives the Archdiocese through the Diocesan Centre for Biblical Apostolate (DCBA) continues its mission of forming young disciples who know, love, and faithfully live the Gospel, enabling them to grow in faith and truly abide in Christ.
