Divine Mercy Retreats Held in the Archdiocese
Divine Mercy Movement of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman had organized Divine Mercy Lenten retreats at St. Francis Xavier’s Church Bhatpal, Our Lady of Grace Church, Margao, St. Alex Church, Calangute and Se Cathedral Church, Old Goa.
Retreat at Bhatpal church , which was heldon 7th March 2023 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.pm. , preached by Fr. Sylvestre D’Souza OCD, President, Divine Mercy Movement Fr. Fredy Lobo, Parish Priest, St. Francis Xavier Church, Bhatpal, Fr. Teodosio Fernandes OCD and Fr. Joseph Correia. They reflected on Mercy in OLD and NEW Testament, Works of Mercy and Sacrament of Reconciliation. Adoration, Eucharistic celebration, Rosary and Way of the Cross was the part of a day retreat. Fr. Fredy Lobo welcomed the faithful and Fr. Silvestre D’Souza thanked all. Divine Mercy Group of Bhatpal church helped in organizing this retreat.
Retreat at Our Lady of Grace Church Margao, which was held from 4.p.m. to 8.m. for the faithful of South Goa, preached by Fr. Simião Fernandes, Director of Pastoral Institute, Old Goa, Fr. Kennet Teles , Parish Priest, Our Lady of Health Church, Sancoale and Fr. Joe Rodrigues, Parish Priest, Our Lady of Grace Church, Margao. Fr. Joe Rodrigues welcomed the retreatants and conducted Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament. Fr. Simião reflecting on the Mercy in the Bible, emphasized on the Compassionate Love of God . Fr. Kennet reflecting on the theme, Most Sacred Heart of Jesus: A Source of God’s Mercy, highlighted 12 promises of Sacred Heart and works of mercy. Br. Malvino Alfonso,OCD, Executive Secretary, Divine Mercy Movement proposed a vote of thanks. Divine Mercy Group of Our Lady of Grace Church, Margao helped in organizing this retreat.
North Goa Retreat on Divine Mercy was held at St. Alex Church, Calangute on 22nd March 2023 from 4.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fr. Simião Fernandes, Director, Pastoral Institute, reflected on Mercy of God in the OLD and NEW Testament and God’s compassionate love. Fr. Polly Lobo, Parish Priest of St. Alex Church presided over the Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Elvis Fernandes, Spiritual Director of Seminary of Our Lady, Saligao and Fr. Aleston Vaz, Prefect, Seminary of Our Lady, Saligao conducted an Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament. Fr. Polly Lobo along with Divine Mercy Group and Parishioners made all the arrangements. Avita Pereira Welcomed the preachers and retreatants. Silvy Fernandes introduced all the preachers and Edwiges Pinto proposeda vote of thanks. Br. Malvino Alfonso, Executive Secretary of DMM, too expressed his words of gratitude.
Retreat at Se Cathedral Old Goa was only for the Parishioners of Old Goa and was preached by Fr. Simião Fernandes and Br. Malvino Alfonso OCD on 27th March 2023 from 4p.m. to 8.p.m.. Fr. Simião Fernandes focused on Mercy in the Bible and God’s compassionate love. Br. Malvino reflected on the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. Br. Malvino Welcomed the retreatants while Fr. Rosario Oliveira, Parish Priest, Se Cathedral thanked all. Divine Mercy Group of Old Goa helped in organizing this retreat.
