The Goa Mariapolis 2026 truly became a little City of Mary—a place where closeness was not merely spoken about, but lived.
The Goa Mariapolis 2026 was held from 12th to 15th September at Casa Pallotti, Assagao, bringing together 63 people of all ages and backgrounds for four days of joy, fraternity and spiritual renewal.
A Mariapolis, or “City of Mary,” is an experience of the Focolare Movement where people of different ages, backgrounds and beliefs come together to live mutual love, fraternity and peace, inspired by the spirituality of Chiara Lubich.
This year, the theme “Closeness” invited participants to deepen their relationship with one another and with God through Communion, Witness and Prayer. It also beautifully echoed the Archdiocese’s theme, “Abide in me,” strengthening our sense of communion with the Church.
Through prayer, sharing, reflection and fellowship, the days were filled with the warmth and joy of a family. The Mariapolis reached its beautiful climax with the concelebrated Holy Mass presided over by Auxiliary Bishop Simiao.
Many participants expressed how deeply they had experienced closeness, joy and fraternity—a glimpse of what it means to live as one family beyond differences of age, background or belief.
