Around 102 Media Animators from various parishes and chapels of the Panjim Deanery came together with a shared resolve—to be messengers of Jesus – love, justice, and peace in today’s world on 10th December 2025. What began as a small inspiration has, over time, grown into one of the most impactful initiatives of the Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media and Panjim Deanery.
The animators joyfully participated in the Diploma Day celebration of the Panjim Deanery Catholic Communication Animators, held at Our Lady of Rosary Parish, Caranzalem, under the theme: “Sent forth to maintain the unity and dignity of the Body of Christ.” The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao. In his homily the Archbishop highlighted that we are called to not only be builders of bridges but be bridges ourselves. He stated that we are called to be communicators of God’s love in our Families, Communities and Society at large.
After successfully completing the course, participants received their diplomas. The programme equipped them with essential skills in communication, spiritual discernment, responsible use of social media, article writing and editing, and guidance on responding wisely to crises without falling prey to digital scams. A strong emphasis was placed on the truth that every person has a role in God’s mission, including those who quietly serve behind the scenes.
The celebration included the Holy Eucharist, co-celebrated by the Dean of Panjim Deanery Fr. Francisco Dias, Director of Diocesan Centre for Social Communications media Fr. Barry Cardozo, Parish priests of the deanery, the taking of the pledge, sharing of personal experiences, distribution of diplomas, and a group photograph with the parish priests and Your Eminence. It was a joyful and grace-filled occasion, honouring the commitment and growth of the animators as they prepare to serve Christ faithfully in their homes, parishes, communities, and digital spaces.
In His vote of thanks Fr. Barry thanked Almighty God, His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao for his support and inspiration, Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes for his constant support and guidance, the Dean Fr. Francisco Dias, Parish Priest of Caranzalem Fr. Pio and all the Deanery Priests and Chaplain. He urged the participants to go out into their own communities to become community builders by becoming instruments of Hope, Love and Understanding.
