Almighty and Eternal God, origin of all authority and goodness,
we remain grateful to you for trusting humankind
to guide the destinies of this world according to your plan.
By giving us a share in the prophetic, priestly and kingly mission of Jesus,
You have sent us forth to build your Kingdom.
Fill me with your Spirit, that I may fulfill my responsibility of choosing
a worthy candidate for our State Assembly with careful diligence.
Stir my conscience, enlighten my mind and bless me with a courageous heart.
I pray for the grace to avoid the temptation of wasting my vote or
voting in a manner that may bring unfair advantage to me, personally.
Father,
We pray that Goa gets a good government, according to your design,
MLAs who will rise above caste, colour and religion divides,
work according to principles of justice and truth,
and, following our Constitution, uphold the rights of all citizens.
Bless us, Father, that, working hand in hand with others,
we may realize your dream of a new humanity
and a new society in this land.
