Report of the Gospel event at Pilerne:
Mhoimek.. voir sor!!
A gospel evening was held on the 17the of March 2024 in St. John the Baptist Church, Pilerne, entitled ‘Mhoimek.. voir sor!!’ with an idea of having an insight into the Holy week as a way of preparation. The event began with captivating gospel music through a gospel band led by Mr. Teryll Coutinho and Mr. Domingos Soares. Gospel dance performed by the youth of Pilerne enthralled the crowd and uplifted their mood. Further, an enactment themed ‘Mhoimek…voir sor! was held enacted by our very own parish youth, under the able direction of Mr. Edmer Baretto. The enactment dealt with the ongoing issue of depression in the society comparing it to the passion of Christ with emphasis on His mental tortures. Flash scenes of the passion of Christ were enacted giving a quick look into the Holy week. Eventually, a message of Hope was conveyed through the act, which brought us to the realization that there is no need for us to despair since Jesus has gained victory over every wrong and every problem. The event began at around 7 pm and ended by 10 pm. All in all the event was a great preparation as we soon step into the Holy week.
