Report on Father’s day and Husband’s day celebration at Pilerne
A celebration for all the fathers and husbands was held on the 19th of March at St. John the Baptist Church, Pilerne, on the occasion of the solemnity of St. Joseph, the husband of Mary with a theme entitled ‘Go to St. Joseph” and animated by the 5 wards of Marra. The rosary of St. Joseph was held at 5.30 pm followed by a eucharistic celebration after which there was get together for all the husbands and fathers. The celebration began on a joyous note with cutting of a cake. Further, Master Ethan recited a beautiful poem for his father. A song composed by Mr. Teryll Coutinho was sung melodiously by Mr. Domingos Soares, touching the hearts of all those gathered. Members of Marra 3 put up a small skit to humorously display the life of a man before and after marriage. An interactive session was conducted by Fr. Derick Fernandes involving an interview of Mrs. Veena of how she a wife stood by her husband during his hard times. It was a great learning experience. Further. Ms. Abigail Viegas spoke about her relationship with her father after the demise of her mom and the importance of taking care of our parents. The event ended by screening a short video of the life the father of our parish priest Fr. Derick Fernandes. The event was concise but had all the elements to brighten the moments of the husbands and fathers present there.
