The Young Students Movement (YSM) – Goa Region, led by the Diocesan Youth Centre (DYC-Goa) organized a 2-days Leadership Camp on 29th & 30th Oct, 2025 for its members from various schools across Goa at the location of Seminary of Our Lady, Saligao-Pilerne. There were 65 participating member students belonging to different religions and comprised of classes VII – IX from 20 schools across Goa.
The camp aimed to develop teamwork, confidence, communication, and leadership qualities among students. Various interactive activities, group discussions encouraged active participation and collaboration among the participants. Input sessions on creativity, leadership skills and self-efficacy were conducted by Fr. Reagan Fernandes, Director of VCDC-Goa, Fr. Blaise Lobo, Regional Director of YCS/YSM-Goa, Adv. Ashwin Costa and Teacher Ruchira Xavier. The energy soared high as Mrs. Cecille Rodrigues and her team ‘Encore’ led a thrilling morning dance session.
The DYC Animation team kept the energy level of the students to the top level with motivational action songs and games. The limelight of the camp was the ‘campfire’ with electrifying group performances by the students which showcased their talents and leadership skills. Students showed enthusiasm and displayed remarkable improvement in problem-solving and decision-making skills. The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Overall, the camp successfully achieved its objectives and provided a memorable and enriching learning experience for all.
