On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I, along with Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes, extend my warmest greetings to all our Hindu brothers and sisters on behalf of the Catholic community in the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman.
Diwali beautifully reminds us of the triumph of light over darkness and truth over untruth. As homes light up with traditional diyas, we are called to kindle love and compassion within our hearts.
The Vatican Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue reminds us of our shared responsibility to forge pathways of peace. True peace is built through authentic dialogue, mutual respect and everyday encounters.
Goa stands as a beacon of communal harmony. Let us use this festive season to strengthen our bonds of fraternity, working hand-in-hand to dispel prejudice and care for one another.
May this festival of lights enlighten our hearts and bring lasting peace, health and happiness to all our families.
