The Museum of Christian Art (MoCA), Old Goa, successfully hosted the third edition of SUMMERCRAFT Children’s Festival on 18th and 19th April 2026. The two-day festival brought together young creators, performers, and families in a vibrant celebration of creativity, entrepreneurship, and self-expression.
A key highlight of the festival was the Children’s Bazaar, where young participants showcased and sold a wide array of handmade products, including jewellery, hand-sewn crafts, and food items. With a fixed number of stalls curated for the event, some children participated across both days, while others presented their creations on a single day, ensuring a dynamic and ever-evolving marketplace. The bazaar not only reflected the creativity of the children but also encouraged them to take ownership of their work, from ideation and pricing to display and interaction with visitors.
The festival featured an engaging line-up of activities designed to nurture artistic expression and confidence. Day 1 included a Handbuilt Pottery Workshop in collaboration with Tilotamma, live game counters, and a captivating Chitrakathi Shadow Puppetry performance by artist Chetan Parshuram Gangavane and team. Day 2 continued the excitement with an open mic session that gave children a platform to express themselves through music, poetry, and storytelling, followed by a spirited Children’s Concert featuring the Child’s Play Chorus.
The festival witnessed a strong and growing response from the community, with families, educators, and visitors turning up to support the young participants. Several children returned from previous editions, reflecting the positive impact and continued enthusiasm for the initiative.
Summercraft remains a testament to MoCA’s commitment to creating inclusive and dynamic learning spaces for children. By blending art, culture, and hands-on experiences, the festival continues to inspire young minds while fostering confidence, creativity, and a spirit of collaboration.
