Procession of Saints’ at St. Andrew’s Church, Goa-Velha
The Penitential Procession of Saints will be held on Monday, 4th April, 2022, at St. Andrew’s Church, Goa-Velha. Thousands of devotees from different walks of life, irrespective of religion and including foreign visitors, take part in this solemn procession.
“The Penitential Procession of Saints (Santanchem Pursanv) which takes place in the fifth week of Lent, will be held on Monday, 4th April, 2022, at 4.30 pm, at St. Andrew’s Church, Goa-Velha. Fr. Emidio Pinto, Parish Priest of St. Andrew’s Church, Goa-Velha, will deliver the homily during the mass, which will then be followed by the Procession of the Saints, beginning with the Tau and Crossed Arms, a symbol of the Franciscan Order, followed by around 31 Statues, including that of the Patron of the Archdiocese, St. Joseph Vaz. The Life Size Statues of the Saints will be kept open for the public veneration on 4th, 5th and 6th April, 2022, at St. Andrew’s Church, Goa-Velha. On Tuesday, 5th April, there will be Masses at 7.00 am, 9.00 am and 4.00 pm, and on 6th April at 7.00 am in the Church.” Informed the Parish Priest Fr. Emidio Pinto and he will be assisted by Fr. Mario Carvalho.
